For generations, shifters have whispered of a prophecy: a True Shifter would come to Lincoln Park Shifter School and reveal their kind to the human world, ending centuries of hiding.

Fifteen-year-old Laylea knows she’s different–her unpredictable shifts terrify her–but she can’t be that shifter. She’s just a scared dog trying to stay alive.

She knows that Grandpa Delcampo, the self-proclaimed Alpha of the Americas, is hunting for the True Shifter to use their blood to create a drug designed to enslave all non-wolves and exterminate non-shifters. 

But when her personal bully catches her shifting into a bear, she can no longer deny the truth. 

And when Grandpa launches an all-out attack during a school fundraiser crowded with shifters and wyrdos and plain old humans, Laylea faces an impossible choice—disappear and leave her friends to face the wolves alone or fulfill the prophecy and risk her own life. 

The prophecy said it would set them free. It said nothing about it being easy.
